Many of the period writers refer to places that can not be found on contemporary maps.  Historic maps are immeasurably helpful with our research and field work.  We rely most heavily upon the United States, Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, Public Land Records, and the David Rumsey Map Collection.
